For over two decades, Buddy Sotello Esquire has been a fixture in professional wrestling. From managing top-tier talent to hosting one of the most engaging wrestling podcasts out there, Buddy has left a mark on the industry in ways both seen and unseen. His journey, full of unforgettable characters, historic moments, and backstage insights, is a testament to his passion for wrestling and his dedication to telling the stories that matter.

From the Ring to the Mic: The Career of Buddy Sotello

Buddy’s journey in professional wrestling began in 2000 when he stepped into the role of manager at the All Pro Wrestling Federation in Hayward, California. With guidance from some of the best minds in the business—Donovan Morgan, Mike Modest, and Shane Atrocity—Buddy quickly made a name for himself.

He became known as “The Master of The Contract,” managing top-tier talent such as Vinnie “The Innovator” Massaro, “Super Destroyer 2000” Mark Bison Smith, and even the legendary Christopher Daniels. His career took him to Pro Wrestling Iron, where he worked alongside stars like BJ Whitmer and Nigel McGuinness, sharing locker rooms with legends like Sara Del Rey, Juventud Guerrero, and the great Mitsuharu Misawa.

Beyond managing, Buddy took on roles in the booking and operations side of the business. At California Championship Wrestling, he helped shape events featuring now-major names like Simon Gotch, Timothy Thatcher, Brian Cage, and the Reno Scum. Today, he continues his managerial work at Wrestling For Charity, helping to bring the magic of professional wrestling to fans in Northern California.

Wrestling & Everything Coast to Coast: A Different Kind of Wrestling Podcast

With a career spanning across different eras and territories of professional wrestling, Buddy knew he had a wealth of stories to share. In 2020, he teamed up with Evan Ginzburg—creative producer of The Wrestler and 350 Days—to create Wrestling & Everything Coast to Coast, a podcast dedicated to the people who make wrestling the most unique industry in the world.
